Series of Ceramic works done in Japan

1. One month pottery journey in Kyoto

  • Learnt from Shigeru Sensei more than just the japanese style of pottery, but also on tea philosophy that pervades every day life, and thoughts on wabi sabi. The material used was dredged clay from Lake Biwa
  • Muneaki Sensei the skill of Kintsugi - a craft used on lacquerware, artistry on pottery, and philosophy of enhancing the beauty of flaws and errors

2. One month journey in Tajimi

A town known for Mino style ware, that was part of the pottery industry during the export boom, now a sleepy old town with resident artists and romantic spaces open to visitors, to learn and experience a genuine lifestyle of Japanese. 
From Shibata sensei, i learnt self awareness and sensitivity in the art, and that growth is all from within, and all about consistency and perseverance.  Material used was China porcelain.
